Zeno of Elea (c. 495–430 B.C.) was an ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician. He is credited with first using the reduction ad absurdum argument, wrestling with issues of infinity, and setting forth several paradoxes attempting to show that change and motion are merely appearances.
