A means of acquiring knowledge about the world through empirically grounded experiments to test the accuracy of hypotheses, and adjusting hypotheses based on the results of the experiments. The apparent assumption that reality can only be known through empirical evidence has frequently placed science and Christianity in adversarial positions.
