HISTORY of Christian Theology

(A.D. 1534) A law enacted by the English Parliament in 1534 at Henry VIII’s behest that made the king the supreme head of the Church in England. The impetus for the law was Henry VIII’s desire to have his marriage to Katherine of Aragon annulled so that he could wed Anne Boleyn.
