HISTORY of Christian Theology

(A.D. 69–155) Polycarp was the Bishop of Smyrna in present-day Turkey. Polycarp was a disciple of John the Apostle and is thought to have been ordained as the Bishop of Smyrna by John. Polycarp is one of the main Apostolic Fathers and was martyred for the faith.
