HISTORY of Christian Theology

Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the mediator of the new covenant that God promised to establish with the house of Israel to supersede the covenant Moses mediated between God and Israel (see Jeremiah 31:31-32). The term “New Testament” actually means “New Covenant” referring to Christ’s gospel and the term “Old Testament” refers to the law of Moses.
