(A.D. 1729-1786) Moses Mendelssohn was a Jewish philosopher from Germany who worked successfully to improve the condition of Jewish people in Germany and the rest of Europe. He translated the Talmud into German to facilitate integration, and persuasively advocated for pluralism and tolerance.
