HISTORY of Christian Theology

(A.D. 1724–1804) German thinker generally recognized as the greatest philosopher of the modern period. He revolutionized modern epistemology with the argument that the mind is active in shaping our experience. He argued that we can think, but not know God and that faith is both rational and moral. He was the founder of the idealist tradition of German philosophy, in which the structure of consciousness gives structure to the world.
