HISTORY of Christian Theology

Is a Greek word for “complete individual being” as opposed to something that is a part of something else, hence a person, a plant, and a dog are each an hypostasis while a leg or a leaf are not. This technical term is used to identify what is three in the Trinity and is typically referred to as “persons” in Western theology.
