(A.D. 1769–1831) Elizabeth Heyrick was an English philanthropist and abolitionist. She criticized other abolitionist leaders for gradualist approaches, and instead sought the immediate and complete emancipation. She also helped organize boycotts against sugar from the plantations of the West Indies.
