HISTORY of Christian Theology

is a Latin term meaning “the Calvinist ‘outside,'” and was used by Lutherans to describe the Calvinist doctrine that Christ’s divinity exists outside his human flesh as opposed to the Lutheran doctrine of ubiquity that Christ’s divine body is present everywhere. This issue became important in their views of the Eucharist.
