(c. A.D. 380–456) Eutyches was an ecclesiastical leader in Constantinople. During the First Council of Ephesus, he vigorously denounced Nestorius and his views. However, his passion on the issue led him to the extreme opposite view of monophysitism and his own subsequent denunciation.
