Diocletian (A.D. 244–311) was a Roman Emperor who successfully stabilized the Roman Empire after nearly collapsing after a period of invasion, civil war, plague, and economic depression. Diocletian also led the last, largest, and bloodiest persecution of Christianity in the Roman Empire.
