A concept accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) that all humans existed as premortal spirits and participated in a council in heaven where God the Father presented his plan for our growth and development through our participation in this mortal experience and where Christ volunteered to be our savior.
