HISTORY of Christian Theology

is derived from the Latin term communio, which basically means to have in common. Words such as “partaking,” “sharing,” or “fellowship” are often translations of this root term. Partaking of the Eucharist is often referred to as the sacrament of “Communion.” This term is also used to describe a close association of churches such as the Anglican communion.
