HISTORY of Christian Theology

(c. A.D. 35–99) He was bishop of Rome from around AD 88 to his death in AD 99. His is one of the few Church fathers who lived during the time of the Apostles. His letter to the Church at Corinth is one of the oldest authentic extant Christian documents available. He admonishes the Christians in Corinth to sustain the elders of their assembly who had been appointed by the Apostles instead of other individuals seeking leadership positions. (Also known as Clement I.)
